DSM strives to keep all clients well trained and up to date on the latest available program developments.
DSM provides monthly training in our Clinton office or via the web, as well as on demand training, on-site client training, and customer-driven workshops. ADMISSIONS The HDMS Admissions class can be very useful, even for
users who already work in the Admitting/Registration area. All functions of Admissions are covered,
including HDMS ID Access, HDMS e-Boss, HDMS Forms Manager, and the latest
editing and time-saving enhancements that have been deployed for these
programs. Patient Medical Records number
assignment, as well as special considerations when I/Oing patients are also
open for discussion. TRANSACTION
ENTRY/ Learn all of the basics of transaction entry into the
HDMS Patient Care Module. This class is
ideal for a new data processing clerk, or for any hospital considering using
the HDMS DOLCE product (Department Online Charge Entry). The basics of entering and correcting
transactions, as well as correcting transactions that have already been posted
to accounts, will be covered. An
overview of the Daily Posting cycle will be provided, including monitoring
daily Census Batches, cycle billing, and importing charge batches from Pharmacy
Interfaces or DOLCE. This class may also
be used as a jump start for DOLCE. We
can show you in a matter of minutes how to get your departments entering
charges online. MEDICAL
RECORDS All aspects of the Medical Records Coding
screen are covered, and a detailed review of Medical Records reporting options
is provided. Learn how the HDMS Medical
Records Module can save you loads of time in gathering statistical data. Disclosure Logs, Chart Tracking/Location
maintenance, and Chart Deficiency are also presented based on level of interest
from the class participants. You’ll also
get a first glance at the latest programming developments in the Medical
Records application…we think you’re going to love it. EXECUTIVE This class provides an overview of the HDMS System from
an Administrative perspective. Learn how
to find the information you want, on a day to day basis. Learn about ViaVPN, a reporting tool that
monitors claim transmissions, acceptance, and payment. The HDMS Dashboard is another new tool that
Administrators or Executives can use to quickly and easily get an overview of
your daily A/R, Cash, and Census totals.
This class also gives administrative users some key system areas to
review in order to assure that everything is running smoothly and accurately. This is an introductory class that will provide you with
hands-on experience and exposure to learning with DSM via internet. If your hospital has INSURANCE
REVIEW (STATE SPECIFIC) Learn how to make the most of your claim transmissions,
on the first try. We are continually
surprised at the amount of claim editing that some insurance clerks
undertake. If all areas of the system that
flow into claim maintenance are setup accurately, filing a claim should be a
review process, not a work in progress. We
encourage participants in this class to bring hard examples of problems that
they are encountering when filing claims, in order to make the most of this
experience. COLLECTIONS Learn everything there is to know about the HDMS
Collections Module. Everything from
in-house collections to outsourcing to a collection agency is covered. Learn how to make the system work for you, by
implementing nightly collections reminders to assist you in managing account
follow-ups. Time permitting,
this class typically includes a demonstration of Client Access Data Transfers,
for pulling out account information for in-house review or for delivery to a
collection agency. QUERY/R2 Depending on the level of familiarity with Query among
the class participants, this class may be held at an introductory or advanced
level. Query/400 is still the most
widely used ad hoc reporting tool among HDMS clients. Learn how to write and modify queries on your
own. Query may also be used to export
data to a file for analysis in Excel, if you prefer. This class includes Client Access Data
Transfer training as well as R2Dox training.
R2Dox is an HDMS add-on that will allow you to convert reports on the
spool file to Excel, PDF, Text, or HTML formats. R2Dox also directly interfaces with MARS, for
on-demand archiving of reports, even if the report is not a standard MARS
report. DSM has entered into an educational partnership with New
Horizons. New Horizons is a nationally
known computer learning center that provides in-depth classes on most Microsoft
Office products. After canvassing our
client base for the June 2006 New Horizons Excel Level II course, we were
surprised to learn that many of you require low-level PC and Microsoft
application help for users that are struggling with these applications. Take advantage of this special opportunity to
get the help your hospital needs in these areas. We have 3 New Horizons courses slated for
September, 2006. These courses each cost
$225.00/per person. The courses are held
at DSM, and lunch is provided for all class participants. Check out New Horizons for yourself at
www.newhorizons.com Most clinics can’t afford to have their key staff members
out of the office. Enroll in the HDMS
Clinic Web Class and learn what you need to know, from your desk! Whether you need an in-depth overview of the
HDMS Physicians Clinic System, or you have specific areas that require
consultative assistance, we can get it done in a matter of hours online. This course covers the same material listed above, only
in web class format. Ideal
for the executive that can’t break away from the office. |
